Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accurate and timely weekly or bi-weekly payroll for all manufacturing employees.
  • Verify and reconcile employee timecards, including complex shift differentials and overtime calculations.
  • Administer and reconcile all payroll deductions, benefits, and wage garnishments.
  • Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit various payroll reports for accounting, HR, and management analysis.
  • Process new hires, terminations, and employee data changes within the payroll system.
  • Respond to and resolve employee payroll inquiries and discrepancies promptly.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 2+ years of high-volume payroll processing experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paychex) and time & attendance systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills for managing complex payroll data and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience processing payroll for a unionized workforce.
  • Familiarity with complex manufacturing pay structures (e.g., shift differentials, piece-rate, production bonuses).
  • Proficiency with advanced timekeeping systems (e.g., Kronos/UKG Dimensions, ADP Workforce Now Time).
  • Understanding of labor costing or job costing principles in a manufacturing setting.
