Salary Range: $71,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize packaging solutions for new and existing products, ensuring product integrity and market appeal.
  • Select appropriate packaging materials based on product requirements, cost-effectiveness, sustainability goals, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of packaging designs to ensure performance, durability, and compliance with shipping standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and supply chain teams to integrate packaging requirements into product development cycles.
  • Ensure all packaging designs and materials comply with relevant industry regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for packaging processes, materials, and equipment to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for packaging-related issues on the production line, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in packaging design, development, and testing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for packaging design and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of various packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and industry testing standards (ISTA, ASTM).
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement cost-effective, sustainable, and supply chain optimized packaging solutions.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with sustainable packaging materials and design principles.
  • Proficiency in Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies applied to packaging processes.
  • Familiarity with packaging automation equipment and line integration.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent experience managing complex packaging projects.
