Incoming Inspection Technician | Rockford, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $68,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against specifications and drawings.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM) to verify product conformity.
  • Document inspection results accurately in the quality management system and maintain detailed records.
  • Identify, segregate, and initiate non-conformance reports (NCRs) for rejected materials.
  • Verify accompanying material certifications, test reports, and other required documentation.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to resolve quality discrepancies and support corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper labeling and disposition of accepted and rejected materials.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with quality control principles, including sampling plans (e.g., AQL).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection results.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping (e.g., MS Excel).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience operating or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for material tracking.
  • Understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, molding, stamping).
  • Relevant quality certifications (e.g., ASQ CQT).
