Inspection Technician | Wayland, MI

Salary Range: $47,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to verify conformance to specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately in quality control records and databases.
• Identify, tag, and report non-conforming materials or products according to established procedures.
• Interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications to determine inspection criteria.
• Conduct first-article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Assist in the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Demonstrated skill in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs).
• Understanding of manufacturing quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and quality control methodologies.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing inspection or quality assurance role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual and dimensional defects.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
• ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification.
• Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
• Ability to interpret and apply advanced GD&T principles to complex parts.
• Experience with vision inspection systems or non-contact measurement tools.
