Salary Range: $64,000 - $99,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD models to understand design specifications and tolerances.
• Operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines, to shape and finish metal components.
• Perform precise measurements and inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with tooling and machinery, implementing effective repair solutions.
• Maintain and sharpen tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to identify tooling needs and improve manufacturing processes.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in tool and die making, including blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Proficiency with manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
• Expertise in precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, bore gauges).
• Strong understanding of metallurgy and heat treatment processes for tooling.
• Ability to perform complex assembly, fitting, and repair of dies and tooling.
• Experience with CNC machining and programming is a plus.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with CNC machining and programming for tool and die applications
• - Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM software for design and simulation
• - Knowledge of heat treatment processes for tooling
• - Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) operations
