Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment according to work orders and specifications.
• Load, edit, and optimize EDM programs for precise material removal and part production.
• Monitor machine operation, electrode wear, and dielectric fluid levels to ensure consistent quality.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic machine malfunctions or process deviations to maintain production efficiency.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on EDM machinery and tooling.
• Maintain accurate production records, quality control documentation, and machine logs.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience operating Wire and/or Sinker EDM machines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Proficiency in setting up EDM machines, including fixturing, electrode/wire installation, and parameter adjustments.
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) for in-process inspection.
• Basic understanding of EDM process parameters and their impact on material and surface finish.
• Strong adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for program validation or minor edits.
• Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) or other advanced metrology tools.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to perform minor machine maintenance or electrical troubleshooting.
