Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test embedded firmware and software for manufacturing automation equipment and control systems.
• Integrate embedded systems with factory floor hardware, sensors, actuators, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET).
• Conduct thorough debugging, validation, and performance optimization of embedded systems to ensure reliability in production environments.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and on-site support for embedded systems, minimizing downtime in manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with production, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to define system requirements and implement robust solutions.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and maintenance procedures.
• Implement data acquisition and edge processing solutions for manufacturing process monitoring and predictive maintenance.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr
• Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and peripheral interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN)
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets, with hands-on experience in hardware bring-up and debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD)
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profinet, EtherCAT) and sensor/actuator integration

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET, CAN).
• Familiarity with PCB design tools and principles of Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Proficiency in developing automated test fixtures and scripts for production lines.
• Understanding of PLC/SCADA systems and their integration with embedded devices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT) for data acquisition and device management.
