Salary Range: $55,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for lathe machines using CAM software or manual G-code.
- Interpret engineering blueprints, CAD models, and specifications to determine machining processes and tool paths.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, holders, and workholding devices for various materials and operations.
- Calculate and set machining parameters, including feeds, speeds, and depths of cut, to achieve desired part quality and efficiency.
- Perform program dry runs, testing, and debugging to ensure accuracy, collision avoidance, and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with machinists and production staff to troubleshoot issues, refine programs, and improve manufacturing processes.
- Create and maintain detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and program documentation.
Recommended Qualifications
- Proficient in G-code and M-code programming for CNC lathes.
- Demonstrated experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Solid understanding of tooling selection, workholding methods, and various material properties.
- Proven experience in optimizing machining processes to improve efficiency and part quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve programming or machining issues.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with multi-axis (e.g., Y-axis, sub-spindle) lathe programming
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling for fixture design or part modification
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience editing or customizing CAM post-processors
