Salary Range: $46,000 - $69,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials against specifications.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) for accurate data collection.
  • Document inspection results thoroughly in the quality management system or ERP.
  • Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming materials and initiate corrective action requests.
  • Verify incoming material certifications and documentation for compliance.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and engineering on material quality issues and resolutions.
  • Maintain and ensure calibration of all inspection equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Ability to read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Experience with quality control methodologies, including sampling plans (e.g., ANSI/ASQ Z1.4).
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to identify visual and dimensional defects.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and using quality management software.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience operating or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Proficiency in interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP or Quality Management Systems (QMS) software.
  • Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
