Salary Range: $54,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and tend CNC Swiss-type lathes.
  • Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments.
  • Adjust machine offsets and change tooling to maintain part specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, G-code, and work instructions.
  • Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot minor issues, and make necessary corrections.
  • Load raw material into bar feeders and unload finished parts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating, setting up, and adjusting CNC Swiss-type lathes (e.g., Star, Citizen, Tsugami).
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators).
  • Ability to perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and troubleshoot machine or part quality issues.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code for minor program edits and machine operation.
  • Experience conducting in-process quality checks to maintain tight tolerances on complex parts.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator).
  • Ability to modify and optimize existing G-code programs.
  • Proven experience in preventative maintenance and minor machine troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for part visualization or basic programming.
