Salary Range: $62,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop CNC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling machines using CAM software.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining processes and requirements.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding methods for various materials and part geometries.
  • Optimize CNC programs for efficiency, cycle time reduction, and surface finish quality.
  • Perform program simulation and verification to detect collisions, errors, and ensure part accuracy prior to machining.
  • Troubleshoot and debug programs on the shop floor, collaborating with machinists to resolve issues.
  • Create and maintain detailed setup sheets, tooling lists, and program documentation.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in CNC mill programming and setup.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360).
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including GD&T.
  • Knowledge of machining principles, tooling selection, and material properties.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Direct hands-on experience operating CNC mills.
  • Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis programming.
  • Proficiency in fixture design for machining applications.
  • Knowledge of post-processor development or modification.
