Salary Range: $53,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts using various metrology equipment.
  • Operate, program, and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other automated inspection systems.
  • Calibrate, verify, and maintain measurement tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T specifications, and manufacturing tolerances.
  • Document inspection results, calibration data, and generate detailed measurement reports.
  • Identify and troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and equipment malfunctions.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of measurement processes and procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in operating and calibrating a variety of precision measurement equipment (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Solid understanding of metrology principles, calibration standards, and quality control methodologies.
  • Experience with metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS) and data analysis for measurement reporting.
  • Mathematical aptitude and keen attention to detail for precise measurement and data interpretation.
  • Relevant technical degree or certification in Metrology, Machining, or Quality Assurance, or equivalent practical experience.

Bonus Qualifications

  • CMM programming experience (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
  • ASQ Certification (e.g., CQT, CMQ/OE)
  • Experience with advanced optical or non-contact measurement systems (e.g., CT scanning, laser trackers)
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) software and data analysis
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification
