EHS Manager | Grand Rapids, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate hazards.
• Lead incident investigations for accidents, near misses, and environmental excursions.
• Develop and deliver EHS training for all employees and contractors.
• Perform EHS audits and inspections to identify non-compliance and areas for improvement.
• Monitor EHS performance metrics, analyze trends, and report findings to management.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5-7 years of progressive EHS experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and best practices.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs, including risk assessments, incident investigations, and training.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and drive a positive safety culture.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean or Six Sigma certification/experience.
• Experience managing EHS in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation.
• Proficiency with EHS management software and data analytics tools.
