EHS Manager | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $77,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular EHS risk assessments, hazard analyses, and job safety analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
• Provide comprehensive EHS training to all employees, including new hires, on safety procedures, emergency response, and hazard communication.
• Manage the facility's emergency preparedness and response plans, including drills, equipment maintenance, and first aid coordination.
• Oversee EHS compliance audits, inspections, and permit management, ensuring timely closure of findings and continuous improvement.
• Drive a strong safety culture through active employee engagement, communication, and promotion of EHS best practices.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in OSHA, EPA, and other federal/state EHS regulations and compliance.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs and management systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a track record of driving a positive safety culture.
• Professional EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with EHS management software implementation or optimization.
• Multi-site EHS management experience.
