EHS Manager | St. Johns, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $127,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and workplace inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees and contractors.
• Manage the facility's emergency preparedness and response plans.
• Oversee hazardous waste management and environmental permitting processes.
• Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and culture across manufacturing operations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• 5+ years of progressive EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal/state EHS regulations and standards.
• Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs and management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead incident investigations, risk assessments, and drive corrective actions.
• Strong leadership, communication, and training skills to foster a robust safety culture.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience implementing or auditing ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
• Proficiency with EHS management software platforms (e.g., Gensuite, Intelex).
• Bilingual capabilities, particularly Spanish, for diverse workforce communication.
• Demonstrated experience with sustainability initiatives or ESG reporting.
