EHS Manager | Caledonia, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $127,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, programs, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard analyses, and workplace inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
• Manage EHS training programs for all employees, ensuring awareness and competency in safety practices and emergency procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
• Lead the development and monitoring of EHS performance metrics and prepare reports for management review.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in EHS performance and foster a proactive safety culture across the manufacturing facility.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive EHS experience within a manufacturing environment, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and their practical application in manufacturing.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Demonstrated experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Professional EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) strongly preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Experience with advanced EHS software platforms (e.g., Gensuite, Intelex, Sphera)
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation
• Fluency in a second language relevant to the manufacturing workforce (e.g., Spanish)
