Salary Range: $61,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and debug CMM programs using CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Interpret complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and in-process part validations.
  • Analyze measurement data, identify non-conformances, and generate detailed inspection reports.
  • Select appropriate CMM probes, fixtures, and measurement strategies for various components.
  • Calibrate and maintain CMM equipment, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve measurement challenges.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and application.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and specifications.
  • Experience working with 3D CAD models for offline programming and feature extraction.
  • Strong understanding of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and equipment calibration.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot measurement issues and optimize CMM programs for efficiency and accuracy.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Advanced GD&T application and interpretation skills, including training experience.
  • Experience with other metrology equipment such as vision systems, laser scanners, or optical comparators.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for fixture design, model manipulation, or reverse engineering.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and data analysis methods.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) applied to inspection processes.
