Salary Range: $54,000 - $81,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise measurements of manufactured components using CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and other metrology tools.
  • Calibrate, verify, and maintain measurement equipment according to established schedules and industry standards.
  • Analyze measurement data, interpret engineering drawings, and identify non-conformances.
  • Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of all metrology activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement processes and equipment accuracy.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of measurement programs and procedures.
  • Provide metrology support and guidance to production and quality control teams.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, schematics, and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Demonstrated experience operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other precision measurement equipment (e.g., optical comparators, calipers, micrometers).
  • Strong understanding of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Ability to analyze measurement data, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Bonus Qualifications

  • CMM programming experience (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)
  • Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, SPC software)
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or experience in process improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with advanced non-contact measurement technologies (e.g., laser scanning, structured light)
