Salary Range: $57,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures according to specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and 3D models to plan and execute tooling projects.
• Operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs, to produce accurate components.
• Perform precision measurements using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators to ensure quality.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with existing tooling, implementing effective repairs and modifications.
• Select appropriate materials and apply heat treatments to optimize tool performance and longevity.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and improve tooling designs for manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM.
• Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with GD&T.
• High degree of precision measurement skills using tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and various tooling materials.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
• Experience in CNC programming and setup.
• Knowledge of EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) processes.
• Understanding of metallurgy and heat treatment principles.
