Quality Technician | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $42,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and inputting data into quality databases.
• Identify, quarantine, and document non-conforming materials or products, initiating corrective action requests as needed.
• Maintain and verify the calibration status of inspection, measurement, and test equipment.
• Assist in the investigation and resolution of quality issues, including root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Conduct product and process audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems and internal procedures.
• Collaborate with production personnel to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities related to product quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical specifications.
• Understanding of basic quality control principles, including SPC and root cause analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with calibration of measurement equipment.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement training.
• Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., Minitab) for data analysis and SPC charting.
• Prior experience with internal quality audits.
• Familiarity with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation or programming.
