Salary Range: $68,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tooling, jigs, fixtures, and molds.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot tooling performance issues, wear, and defects.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling design and processes.
  • Collaborate with production, design, and maintenance teams on tooling requirements.
  • Manage the lifecycle of tooling, including maintenance, repair, and replacement.
  • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for new and existing tooling.
  • Ensure all tooling meets quality standards, safety regulations, and production specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience in tooling design, development, and optimization for manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, molding, machining).
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tool design and simulation.
  • Strong understanding of materials science, heat treatment, and surface finishes relevant to tooling applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues, improving efficiency and tool life.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles, GD&T, and metrology for precision tooling.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling or rapid prototyping.
  • Proficiency in advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, mold flow analysis).
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
  • Project management experience leading tooling development projects.
  • Familiarity with automation and robotics in manufacturing tooling processes.
