Manufacturing Engineer | St. Johns, MI

Salary Range: $71,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
• Design, test, and implement production tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
• Lead new product introduction (NPI) activities from prototype to full-scale production.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues and non-conformances.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and BOMs.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, quality, production) to ensure manufacturability and resolve technical issues.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on process optimization and efficiency.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping) and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for tooling, fixture, and process layout design.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
• Experience with robotic integration and automation systems
• Proficiency in advanced simulation software (e.g., Ansys, Arena, SolidWorks Simulation)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
