Salary Range: $62,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Charlotte seeking Tool and Die Makers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine machining operations.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, such as lathes, mills, and grinders, to produce precision parts.
• Assemble, fit, and finish new tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures according to design requirements.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on existing production tooling and dies.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Test completed tools and dies to ensure they function properly and produce parts that meet quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tool designs and resolve manufacturing issues.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in tool and die making or a related manufacturing field.
• Proficiency in operating precision machinery such as CNC mills, lathes, and grinders.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with various tool steels and heat treatment processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex tooling and dies.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CNC programming and operation for tool and die work
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for design and manufacturing
• Knowledge of various heat treatment processes for tooling
• Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)
• Familiarity with metrology and precision measurement equipment
