Salary Range: $56,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and repair complex tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine material specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Operate precision machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment to fabricate parts.
• Perform precise measurements and quality checks to ensure components meet strict specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tooling and machinery to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Select appropriate materials and heat-treating processes for tool and die components.
• Maintain and sharpen tools and dies to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to identify tooling needs and implement improvements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in the tool and die making trade.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Expertise in operating and maintaining precision machining equipment (e.g., CNC machines, lathes, milling machines).
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and material properties.
• Ability to perform complex assembly, fitting, and repair of tools, dies, and fixtures.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to tooling issues.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with CNC machining and programming
• - Proficiency in CAD/CAM software
• - Knowledge of heat treatment processes for tooling
• - Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)
