Salary Range: $68,000 - $100,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficient workflow and timely availability of tools.
• Manage inventory of all tooling, including molds, dies, fixtures, and spare parts, maintaining accurate records and conducting regular audits.
• Implement and enforce tool maintenance, repair, and calibration schedules to minimize downtime and ensure optimal tool performance.
• Supervise and train tool room personnel, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a safe and productive work environment.
• Collaborate with engineering and production departments to understand tooling needs and troubleshoot any tool-related issues impacting manufacturing processes.
• Procure new tooling and supplies, managing vendor relationships and ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tool room environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in tool room processes, such as preventative maintenance programs and tool standardization.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in tool room operations and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling technologies.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management and stock control.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with inventory management software beyond basic tracking
• - Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• - Certification in a relevant trade (e.g., machinist, tool and die maker)
• - Basic understanding of preventative maintenance scheduling for tooling
