Salary Range: $65,000 - $96,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficient organization and accessibility of tools and equipment.
• Manage inventory of tools, dies, fixtures, and spare parts, implementing a robust tracking system to prevent loss and ensure availability.
• Schedule and coordinate the maintenance, repair, and calibration of all tooling to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Supervise and train tool room personnel, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance reviews.
• Implement and enforce safety regulations and procedures within the tool room to maintain a secure working environment.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand tooling needs and support new product development and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of tool usage, repair history, and inventory levels for reporting and analysis.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in tool room operations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in tool room operations and management.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and equipment maintenance.
• Excellent leadership and team supervision skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management and control systems.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to tooling and machinery.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of tooling maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance programs.
• Experience with quality control procedures related to tooling.
• Familiarity with CNC machining processes and tool requirements.
