Shop Manager | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $90,000 - $137,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop floor operations to ensure production targets are met efficiently and safely.
• Manage and develop a team of production staff, including scheduling, performance reviews, and training.
• Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain product standards and minimize defects.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and procurement, to optimize production processes.
• Maintain equipment and machinery, coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Track production metrics and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in manufacturing operations management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent understanding of production processes and quality control.
• Proficiency in inventory management and supply chain principles.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
