Staff Accountant | Fremont, MI

Salary Range: $54,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• - Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• - Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
• - Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• - Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• - Participate in inventory costing, analysis, and reconciliation.
• - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• - Ensure compliance with internal controls and GAAP.
• - Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with inventory valuation and cost analysis.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with ERP systems specifically designed for manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite Manufacturing, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• - Understanding of inventory valuation methods common in manufacturing (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, Weighted-Average).
• - Familiarity with cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and bill of materials (BOM).
• - Experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciation for manufacturing equipment.
• - Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools beyond standard Excel, such as Power BI or Tableau.
