Salary Range: $42,000 - $67,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding operations according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Inspect and test welds for defects and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, making necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain and clean welding equipment and work area.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and procedures in the workshop.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Assist in the fabrication and assembly of metal components.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding preferred.
  • Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with welding equipment, tools, and safety procedures.
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy and material properties relevant to welding.

Bonus Qualifications

  • - Experience with automated welding systems (e.g., robotic welding, orbital welding)
  • - Proficiency in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as visual inspection (VT), dye penetrant (PT), or magnetic particle (MT)
  • - Familiarity with various welding processes beyond common ones (e.g., plasma arc welding, electron beam welding)
  • - Certification in specific welding procedures or materials (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector - CWI)
