Salary Range: $49,000 - $74,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials against specifications and drawings.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators) for accurate measurements.
  • Document inspection results thoroughly in the Quality Management System, including pass/fail status and measurement data.
  • Identify, segregate, and tag non-conforming materials according to established procedures.
  • Initiate and process Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for rejected components or materials.
  • Maintain and verify the calibration status of inspection tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and suppliers on material quality issues and resolutions.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience in identifying and documenting non-conforming materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and visual inspection skills.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and record keeping.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or manufacturing execution systems (MES) for data entry.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other industry-specific quality management systems.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly, welding).
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles or basic statistical methods.
  • Certification as a Quality Inspector (e.g., ASQ CQA, CQI).
