Salary Range: $57,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for lathe machines using CAD/CAM software.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding devices for machining operations.
  • Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and operational instructions for machine operators.
  • Perform program dry runs and debugging to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and part quality.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot machining issues, making necessary program adjustments.
  • Calculate and set speeds, feeds, and depths of cut for various materials.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality control to refine manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain and update a library of CNC programs and related documentation.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming for CNC lathes.
  • Demonstrated experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for generating toolpaths.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and workholding techniques.
  • Experience with machine setup, tool offsets, and first-article inspection.
  • Knowledge of various material properties and their machinability.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with 5-axis programming or multi-tasking machines.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for fixture design or part modification.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with CMM programming or advanced metrology tools.
