Salary Range: $60,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC Swiss-type lathes for precision part manufacturing.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and process sheets to ensure part conformity and quality.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
  • Adjust offsets, replace tooling, and make minor program edits to maintain part specifications and optimize production.
  • Monitor machine operation, identify malfunctions, and resolve basic alarms or production issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform routine preventative machine maintenance.
  • Document production data, quality checks, and machine performance logs accurately.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 2+ years of direct experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, interpreting GD&T, and using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators).
  • Ability to perform tool changes, offsets, and make minor program adjustments (G-code/M-code knowledge preferred).
  • Strong understanding of quality control procedures, in-process inspection, and material handling for various metals and plastics.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot common machining issues and maintain tight tolerances.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with G-code programming or CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit).
  • Proficiency with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator, profilometer).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform minor machine adjustments, preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Experience with cutting tool selection, optimization, and advanced tooling concepts.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
