Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Traverse City that are seeking Environmental Health & Safety Specialists. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Investigate accidents and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver EHS training programs to employees on topics such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and hazard communication.
• Manage hazardous waste disposal and ensure proper record-keeping.
• Maintain and update EHS documentation, including permits, licenses, and safety data sheets.
• Collaborate with production teams to integrate EHS best practices into manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
• 3-5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Demonstrated experience conducting EHS audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver EHS training programs.
• Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, ASP, CHMM) is a plus.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) for EHS metrics
• Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar
• Ability to conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend solutions
• Strong technical writing skills for developing procedures, reports, and training materials
