Tooling Engineer | Holland, MI
Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Holland that are seeking skilled Tooling Engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and optimizes tooling for manufacturing processes.
- Collaborates with production teams to troubleshoot and improve existing tooling.
- Conducts root cause analysis of tooling failures and implements corrective actions.
- Manages tooling procurement, inventory, and maintenance schedules.
- Develops and maintains tooling documentation, including specifications and drawings.
- Evaluates new tooling technologies and materials for potential implementation.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for designing and analyzing tooling.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, casting, or machining.
- Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
- Knowledge of various tool materials, heat treatments, and surface finishes.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for mold design and manufacturing
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, die casting)
- Knowledge of metrology and inspection techniques for tool validation
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Certification in a relevant area (e.g., Six Sigma, GD&T)
