Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize welding procedures for various manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment and consumables.
  • Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and manufacturing personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and safety regulations related to welding.
  • Implement new welding technologies and materials to improve product quality and efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, focusing on welding processes and metallurgy.
  • AWS Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) or equivalent certification.
  • Proficient in various welding techniques (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW) and their application to different materials.
  • Strong understanding of welding codes, standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX), and quality control procedures.
  • Experience with weld design, root cause analysis of weld defects, and implementation of corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Experience with robotic welding systems and programming.
  • Familiarity with NDT methods and specifications (UT, MT, PT, RT).
  • Project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
