Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize welding procedures for various manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
  • Specify and procure welding equipment, consumables, and tooling.
  • Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and manufacturing personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and customer specifications for welding.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to welding quality, efficiency, and safety.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, focusing on welding processes and metallurgy.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) certification.
  • Proficient in various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) and their application in manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of NDT methods, material science, and failure analysis related to welded structures.
  • Experience with robotic welding systems and automation.

Bonus Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
  • Experience with robotic welding processes and automation
  • Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation
  • Project management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for fixture design and analysis
