Salary Range: $70,000 - $109,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine product designs and concepts using CAD software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) to optimize production processes.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for components and assemblies.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities for new and existing designs.
• Investigate and resolve design-related issues encountered during manufacturing and product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure design integrity and feasibility.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, PTC Creo) for modeling, assembly, and drafting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and their design implications.
• Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of material science and selection for various engineering applications.
• Ability to develop prototypes, conduct testing, and analyze results to refine designs.

Bonus Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with FEA or simulation software for design validation.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, or shop floor operations.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proven ability to apply advanced Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
