EHS Manager | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policies.
• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs, procedures, and policies.
• Conduct regular EHS risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify hazards and ensure control measures are effective.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Manage environmental permits, hazardous waste disposal, air emissions, and wastewater compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and foster a proactive safety culture within the facility.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory capacity.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Professional EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, or CHMM).
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations applicable to manufacturing operations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) designation.
• Experience leading ISO 14001/45001 certification or OSHA VPP achievement.
• Proficiency in EHS data analytics and specialized EHS software platforms.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
