The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
• Analyze production costs, variances, and profitability reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Prepare detailed cost analysis reports, including product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.
• Conduct variance analysis for material, labor, and overhead, explaining deviations from standard or budget.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts for manufacturing operations.
• Support the month-end close process, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold.
• Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and process improvements within the manufacturing plant.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, specifically within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Demonstrated experience with bill of materials (BOM) analysis, production costing, and labor efficiency tracking.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma certification or experience in process improvement initiatives.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience implementing or working extensively with Activity-Based Costing (ABC).
• Basic SQL proficiency for data extraction and analysis.
