Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
• Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Monitor and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and prevent production delays.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, evaluating performance regularly.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to forecast material needs and resolve supply issues.
• Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and supply chain optimization.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement and inventory management.
• Proven negotiation and vendor management skills with a focus on cost reduction and quality.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and material requirements.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory optimization.

Bonus Qualifications

• Technical aptitude or background in manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, electronics assembly).
• Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
• Experience with advanced ERP/MRP functionalities, specifically in supplier relationship management (SRM) or e-procurement modules.
• Demonstrated ability in cost analysis, value engineering, or total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling.
