Salary Range: $57,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise dimensional measurements of manufactured parts and assemblies using various metrology tools.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot metrology equipment and instruments (e.g., CMMs, calipers, micrometers, vision systems).
  • Document measurement data, calibration records, and inspection reports accurately and thoroughly.
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process, and final product inspections according to specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.
  • Identify and report measurement discrepancies, out-of-tolerance conditions, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of measurement processes and quality control procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Machining, Quality Control, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Proficiency in operating and interpreting precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators, and CMMs
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
  • Experience with calibration procedures and maintaining measurement traceability

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
  • Experience applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles to manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 or AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Experience with non-contact measurement technologies (e.g., laser scanning, vision systems).
