Quality Technician | Grand Rapids, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $68,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process, final, and incoming inspections of manufactured products and materials.
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain comprehensive quality records.
• Utilize precision measurement tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Identify, quarantine, and report non-conforming materials and products.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for quality issues.
• Conduct calibration checks on measurement equipment and maintain calibration records.
• Support the development and improvement of quality control procedures and work instructions.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Experience performing quality inspections and documentation in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and basic Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills for identifying quality issues.

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or equivalent certification.
• Experience with CMM programming/operation or vision inspection systems.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for SPC.
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies or continuous improvement projects.
