Quality Technician | Mason, MI

Salary Range: $46,000 - $69,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM) to verify product dimensions and characteristics.
• Document inspection results, identify non-conformances, and initiate appropriate corrective action requests.
• Assist in the investigation of quality issues, root cause analysis, and the implementation of preventative measures.
• Maintain accurate and organized quality records, including inspection reports, test data, and material certifications.
• Support the calibration and maintenance of quality control equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with production teams to promote quality awareness and ensure compliance with quality management systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
• Strong computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for data analysis).
• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured goods.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate record-keeping and documentation.

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or equivalent certification.
• Experience with CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification.
• Internal auditor training or experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
