Materials Manager | Caledonia, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and ensure material availability.
• Oversee procurement and sourcing activities for raw materials, components, and MRO supplies.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure quality, on-time delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead demand forecasting and planning processes to align material supply with production schedules.
• Optimize material flow, warehousing, and logistics operations within the manufacturing facility.
• Implement and maintain material master data integrity within the ERP system.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in material handling, storage, and inventory control processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in supply chain, inventory management, and procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory control, planning, and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies for inventory optimization, cost reduction, and supplier performance improvement.
• Strong analytical, forecasting, and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving material availability targets.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and Just-In-Time (JIT) methodologies.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification/experience
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
• Experience with advanced planning systems (APS) or Business Intelligence (BI) tools
• Proven experience in global sourcing and logistics management
