Salary Range: $62,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC Swiss-type lathes for precision part production.
  • Perform in-process inspections using various metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, comparators) to ensure quality.
  • Load raw material (bar stock) and tooling into machines, ensuring proper setup and alignment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to verify part specifications.
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adjust machine offsets and parameters to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
  • Document production data, quality checks, and machine downtime accurately.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 2+ years direct experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and GD&T.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, gauges).
  • Ability to perform in-process quality checks and make necessary offset adjustments.
  • Basic understanding of G-code and M-code for minor program edits.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit) for program review or minor edits.
  • Experience operating or programming advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform preventative maintenance and minor machine troubleshooting/repair.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
