Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections of first-run parts against engineering specifications.
• Complete and accurately document First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) according to industry standards (e.g., AS9102).
• Utilize precision measuring equipment such as CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part conformance.
• Identify, document, and report all non-conformances and deviations from design requirements.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols to ensure accurate inspection.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve inspection discrepancies and improve processes.
• Maintain calibration and proper functioning of all inspection tools and equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering blueprints, specifications, and CAD models.
• Strong working knowledge and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Expertise in operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other precision measurement equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators).
• Proven experience generating comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 or similar industry standards.
• Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100, and relevant industry quality standards.

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software for model-based inspection and analysis.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, or IATF 16949 quality management systems.
