IATF Quality Engineer | Wayland, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards and customer-specific requirements.
• Lead and support APQP and PPAP submissions for new product introductions and changes.
• Facilitate root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions using 8D methodology.
• Conduct internal product, process, and system audits to verify compliance and effectiveness.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on defect reduction and process optimization.
• Develop and maintain quality control plans, FMEAs, and implement Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Collaborate with suppliers on quality issues, non-conformances, and continuous improvement.

Recommended Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and practical application of IATF 16949 standard requirements.
• Proficiency in Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
• Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) and corrective action implementation.
• Certified IATF 16949 Internal Auditor with experience conducting system and process audits.
• Strong analytical and statistical skills for data-driven decision making and process control.

Bonus Qualifications

• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and tools
• Hands-on experience with SAP QM module or similar ERP quality management systems
