Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery of tools and equipment.
• Manage inventory of tools, dies, molds, and fixtures, implementing robust tracking and reordering systems.
• Supervise and train tool room personnel, fostering a culture of safety, precision, and continuous improvement.
• Implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all tool room machinery and equipment.
• Ensure the proper calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments and gauges.
• Collaborate with engineering and production departments to identify tooling needs and facilitate tool design and modification.
• Enforce safety regulations and best practices within the tool room, conducting regular safety audits.
• Develop and manage the tool room budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in tool room operations and management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of tooling, machining processes, and quality control standards.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Proficiency in inventory management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for tooling and equipment.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC machining is a plus.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• - Knowledge of various metrology tools and calibration procedures.
• - Familiarity with inventory management software and ERP systems.
• - Certification in a relevant trade (e.g., machinist, tool and die maker).
• - Strong understanding of preventative maintenance schedules for tooling and machinery.
