Salary Range: $58,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and repair complex tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
- Operate and maintain a variety of precision machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform precision measurements using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with existing tooling to minimize downtime.
- Select appropriate materials and heat treatments for tool longevity and performance.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and dies to extend their lifespan.
Recommended Qualifications
- Completed Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship or equivalent journeyman experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Expertise in precision machining operations, including manual and CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and EDMs.
- Skilled in using a wide range of precision measuring instruments to ensure tight tolerances.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and material properties.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures.
Bonus Qualifications
- - Experience with CNC machining and programming (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360)
- - Proficiency in CAD software for tool design and modification
- - Knowledge of heat treatment processes for tool steels
- - Familiarity with additive manufacturing techniques for tooling components
- - Experience with quality inspection equipment and procedures (e.g., CMM, optical comparators)
