Key Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures using machining equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to create intricate components.
• Select appropriate materials and cutting tools for specific manufacturing processes.
• Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.
• Perform precision measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tooling and machinery during production runs.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize tool performance and manufacturing efficiency.
• Maintain detailed records of tooling modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or in a similar precision machining role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of tool and die design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Experience operating and maintaining a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines.
• Skill in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauge blocks.
• Knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment, and material properties relevant to tool and die making.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with CNC programming and operation.
• - Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD software for design and modification.
• - Knowledge of heat treatment processes for tool steels.
• - Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining).
• - Certification in precision measurement techniques.
